Now add up your score:

Results

22-27 points: Wow, you really have a grip on time (maybe even more than necessary). You probably know how to arrange your school and study time too. Good for you.

10-21 points: You do pretty well, and a little effort to improve would probably bring great results in schoolwork.

Below 10 points: Other people have probably already pointed out that you ought to pay more attention to time. Don't despair. Being aware of your weakness is the first step to overcoming it. Be sure to do the other activities in this section.

Daily Time Breakdown
Think about what time you do each of these things during a typical day and then figure out how many hours total you devote to each item. Each day I spend time:

________hours sleeping

________hours eating

________hours in school

________hours traveling to and from school

________hours working (for older kids)

________hours traveling to and from work

________hours doing chores

________hours playing sports

________hours in music

________hours doing homework

________hours with friends

________hours Other

This means I spend _______ hours each day doing things I need to do.

This leaves me with ________ hours to spend each day on things I want to do.

Print out a copy of this chart and fill it out with your child fill by writing all of the scheduled, fixed activities in the appropriate boxes. Probably, many boxes will be left open. Then, you and your child can discuss some of the fun and productive ways to use those extra hours. Don't forget to include both study and play!!
